My Approach

A theory of psychotherapy acts as a roadmap for counselors. It guides us through the process of understanding clients and their problems and developing solutions.

Integrative Psychotherapy

Over the years, I’ve learned to avoid being rigid in my therapy approach. Instead, I prefer to blend elements from various approaches and tailor the treatment to meet the individual and unique needs of each client. I have loved bits and pieces of many styles and in finding my own voice I have landed on an integrative approach.

Over all, I believe a holistic perspective on treatment makes a lasting difference. This includes emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and relational dimensions that ensure comprehensive care that supports over-all wellbeing.

One of the approaches is to utilize aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy. It endeavors to develop practical skills to manage symptoms, improve daily functioning, and provides structure to problem solving.

Another approach to support the holistic perspective is to look at things in depth by encouraging exploration of underlying conflicts, past experiences and core beliefs that influences current behavior, and emotional states. I believe looking at these things in-depth promotes long-term healing.

In addition, I believe fostering a sense of self-worth, and facilitating self-discovery, leads to greater fulfillment over all.

Integrative Psychotherapy not only focuses on visible symptoms, but also seeks to explore the underlying causes of emotional and psychological problems. This allows a more complete approach, which considers the interconnection between emotions, thoughts and behaviors.
